Le Pavillon, NYC

Easily the best meal of a weekend trip…Vidalia tart and octopus as our 2 first courses, followed by bone marrow crusted halibut and a lobster with “sauce american.”

2 chocolate desserts rounded out the 3 course prix fixe.

Extensive wine list heavy as expected on the French choices with a rather expansive burgundy selection.  However, some solid simple French whites around $100.

2 Michelin stars and well deserved.

Dress code not applicable here…saw suits and sport coats as well as tennis shoes and jeans.

Beautiful space heavy on foilage.

Highly recommended.

Sushi Nabe, Chattanooga

Our favorite meal in Chattanooga is the Omakase at Sushi Nabe.  The variety is incredible and we have rarely had a dish repeated after several years of doing this.

Ingredients/product that appear nowhere else on the menu amazingly materialize on a set during Omakase.

The husband/wife team along with their son are gracious and extraordinarily friendly hosts.

In the last couple of weeks we have had fresh bamboo shoots from Nabe’s garden and a black cod with Miso with pickled ginger that easily surpassed the original that we had at Nobu NYC yesterday.
